Grand-Goâve. Dessalines marches toward its mountain to force the cordon.

Dessalines, master of the whole southern coast of the department of the West, resolved to go back up toward the northern coast to force the cordon of Grand-Goâve, which Faubert commanded, and then to penetrate into the department of the South by the bridge of Miragoâne. On 28 April (8 Floréal) he left Baynet, marching in two columns toward the mountain of Grand-Goâve, where the advanced posts of the Rigaudins were established.
