Cavalier. Carried by Laplume after a stubborn resistance.

Toussaint, refusing to be dazzled by a success so dearly won, ordered Dessalines to pursue the war with the greatest activity. On 22 March (1 Germinal) General Laplume, at the head of the bands of the mountain, carried the post of Cavalier near Baynet after meeting a stubborn resistance. By the capture of this important fort the communications between Baynet and Grand-Goâve, both still held by the Rigaudins, were cut for good.
