Damiens. Lérembourg reads the concordat to deputations of whites and freedmen, who swear to uphold it.

On 19 October, the day of the meeting, a new concordat was signed at Goureau, by which that of 11 September was recognized as lawful and in conformity with the constitution. It was further stipulated there that the white citizens would recall their deputies who sat in the Colonial Assembly, and would ask Blanchelande to pronounce its dissolution. On Sunday, 23 October, deputations of whites and freedmen went to Damiens, where the mayor of Port-au-Prince, Citizen Lérembourg, read them the concordat of the 19th. On both sides they swore to uphold the treaty in all its terms.
