Law of 31 August 1906 joins La Marmelade to the Artibonite

The arrondissement of the Marmelade, which formed part of the department of the North administratively and financially and came under the administration of the Cap-Haitien, was, by virtue of the law of 17 December 1879, united to the department of the Artibonite by the law of 31 August 1906 (Moniteur of 8 September 1906), and now comes under the general administration of the Cap-Haitien, on which it already depended only in the judicial respect. This classification is more scientific, the outlets and the relations of this arrondissement with the North being more natural.
