Law creates the 38th line infantry regiment

SALTROU GRAND GOSIER. Military line assimilated to an arrondissement of the 4th class because of its importance on the frontier. 38th regiment of infantry of the line, created by the law of 10 September 1890. 1 poste militaire at the Anses à Pitres in the rural section of Bois Sec in the commune of Grand Gosier. The advanced posts forming the frontier line of the arrondissement are the Herbes de guinée, the Carrefour des figues, la Hatte, and the Anses à Pitres. Created a commune of the 5th class in 1917.
