Lapointe evacuates Arcahaie

Haitian

On 7 May 1798, at noon, Lapointe at last evacuated l’Arcahaie. In withdrawing he destroyed everything: fortifications, barracks, crops, munitions and horses. He withdrew to the Môle Saint-Nicolas: Dessalines took possession of l’Arcahaie for the French.
