Laplume and Pierre Louis Diane storm the Rigaudins’ two camps at La Petite Vallée

Haitian

On 28 June 1800 the Rigaudins, retreating into the South, had raised two camps on these two mornes. General Laplume attacked the fortification on the left with 2,000 men, and Pierre Louis Diane the one on the right. In less than an hour the two positions were taken. The Rigaudins went to reassemble farther off behind a small rampart on the morne Trémé or Dufreté.

Rouzier tells this under the entry PETITE VALLEE (la).
