Jacmel forces take Camp Ogé

Haitian

Camp Ogé (le). Formidable position situated on the habitation of this name in the commune of Jacmel, which the troops of President Salnave, operating against Jacmel, occupied during the revolution of the Cacos in 1869. On 16 January the people of Jacmel succeeded in taking the position; but the government troops retook it. On 4 November 1869, Victorin Chevalier, minister of war of President Salnave and delegate of the government before Jacmel, making his submission to the Cacos, had the general assembly beaten there, and proclaimed the deposition of Salnave.

Rouzier tells this under the entry Camp Ogé (le).
