Insurrection from Ouanaminthe under Salnave
Haitian
While the French were occupied with the siege of the Crête-à-Pierrot, General Christophe was traversing the North with extraordinary boldness. He raised the cultivators of Trou. Trou answered the insurrection that started from Ouanaminthe on 7 May 1865, with Salnave as its leader: the village was immediately reduced to submitting to the government of President Geffrard. General Andrieux occupied it.
Rouzier tells this under the entry TROU (le).
