Hurricane ravages Les Cayes

Haitian

Several hurricanes wrought havoc in the town: those of 14 August 1680, 21 September 1751, 17 September 1754, 20 September 1756, 4 August 1772, 27 August 1775, 5 September 1781, 16 August 1788, and in 1810, 1817, 1828, 1831 and 1883.

Rouzier tells this under the entry Cayes (les).
