Hardy attacks Christophe at Dondon
Haitian
On the arrival of the Leclerc expedition, General Hardy assailed Christophe at Dondon: it was 18 February 1802. Christophe withdrew in disorder to the Marmelade, leaving a part of his troops to hold Hardy in check, and went to entrench himself at Ennery on the road to the Cap, between Plaisance and the Poteau, in the hope of halting Leclerc’s march on the Gonaïves.
Rouzier tells this under the entry Dondon.
