Government order on funeral honors
Haitian
Art. 109. As soon as the president of the Senate is informed of the death of a senator, he informs the competent authority, so that funeral honors may be rendered to him in accordance with the decree of the government of 4 January 1855. Immediately, the senator’s chair is draped in mourning until his replacement and, to announce the loss sustained by the body, the flag is flown at half-mast for three days. The same is done on official news of the death of a senator in another arrondissement.
Rouzier tells this under the entry HAÏTI: Senate. Internal Regulations of 8 June 1870.
