English frigate Pénélope bombards Fort Touron

Haitian

On 1 June 1794, at 11 o’clock in the morning, Fort Touron was cannonaded by the English frigate the Penelope. The next day, in the afternoon, Colonel Hamofield landed with 200 men at the pointe de la Saline and took it.

Rouzier tells this under the entry TOURON.
