Earthquake makes the Roche thermal spring vanish

Haitian

ROCHE. Position lying between Mirebalais, rural section of Génipailler, and the bourg of the Petite Rivière on the right bank of the Artibonite. There is a sulfurous thermal spring in the bed of a steep and rocky ravine. The earthquake of 16 August 1751 made the waters disappear; they reappeared in 1760 and disappeared again at the earthquake of 1770. Today the spring gushes forth again, if the geography of Mr. D, Jean Louis and Thébaud is to be believed.

Rouzier tells this under the entry ROCHE.
