Earthquake destroys Port-au-Prince and the Cul-de-Sac manufactories
Haitian
The earthquake of 3 June 1770, which overthrew Port-au-Prince, destroyed all the manufactories of the plain of the Cul-de-Sac. The Grande-Rivière remained dry for sixteen hours. Its waters came back all at once and overflowed with violence.
Rouzier tells this under the entry Cul-de-Sac (le).
