Dominican privateers land at Dame-Marie, plunder and burn the village

Haitian

On 3 December 1849, Dominican privateers landed at Dame-Marie, plundered and burned the village. On the 5th, the Haitian fleet put them to flight near the Cayes, where it met them.

Rouzier tells this under the entry Dame-Marie ou Dalmarie.
