Dessalines sets up headquarters at Turgeau
Haitian
On 25 September 1803, at the siege of Port-au-Prince, Dessalines established his headquarters there. The French General Lavalette opened negotiations with Dessalines to evacuate the town; he sent General Andrieux to Turgeau to guarantee the execution of the commitments he had made to that end. Dessalines, in exchange, sent General Bonnet to Port-Républicain.
Rouzier tells this under the entry TURGEAU.
