Dessalines halts at Vallu as Rigaud’s army retreats
Haitian
On 2 May 1800, when Rigaud’s army was retreating in the south, Dessalines halted there. When he resumed his march on Petit-Goâve, his advance guard was assailed by the fire of a camp posted on the summit of a morne that commanded the main road. Colonel Dommage sprang against the Rigaudins and dispersed them in the woods.
Rouzier tells this under the entry VALLU ou VALUE.
