Decree creates the province of Espaillat

Haitian

By decree of 28 May 1885, the province of Espaillat was created and taken from that of la Vega, with Moca as chief town and as principal towns: San Antonio del Yuna, San Francisco de Macoris, Matanzas and Yuna-Nunez.

Rouzier tells this under the entry VEGA (la).
