Daulion’s assault on the Petit Fort fails; Capoix breaks out by night
Haitian
The battalion chief Daulion thought he could take the fortification by storm; he marched against it, but his grenadiers were crushed at the foot of the ramparts. Night came: the firing ceased. Then Capoix left the Petit Fort without firing a shot, pierced the enemy line with the bayonet, and reached the countryside without being molested.
Rouzier tells this under the entry PORT-DE-PAIX.
