Columbus discovers the island of Haiti

Haitian

The island of Haiti was discovered by the Genoese navigator Christopher Columbus on 6 December 1492, after he had discovered the Lucayes Islands and that of Cuba. The first point at which the great navigator landed was the Môle Saint-Nicolas.

Rouzier tells this under the entry HAÏTI: the general article.
