Clausel orders Cagnet and Tellier to take La Tannerie to cut off Romain’s retreat
Haitian
During the Galbaud affair at le Cap, Jn. François attacked the fort of the Tannerie, which he took after a slight engagement. In 1803 General Romain occupied with the indigènes the mornes Pelé and Lecurieux near le Cap. General Clausel left that town to go and dislodge him, and ordered Cagnet and Jacques Tellier to seize the Tannerie in order to cut off the retreat of the indigènes on 24 July.
Rouzier tells this under the entry TANNERIE (la).
