Civil commissioners attacked by Galbaud withdraw from the Cap to Bréda
Haitian
On 21 June 1793, the civil commissioners Southonax and Polvérel, attacked at the government palace of the Cap by Galbaud with forces ten times superior to their own, withdrew from the Cap to the habitation Bréda. Many white burghers, fleeing death, came to find them there, under the protection of the affranchis. They soon returned to the Cap, from which they drove out Galbaud.
Rouzier tells this under the entry Bréda.
