c. AD 1200 – 1500 (Architectural Layout): In the Maniabón region of Cuba, residential sites were frequently organized around a central plaza, which was kept clear of debris. Domestic structures were built on the surrounding slopes, with refuse discarded behind the houses to form annular (ring-shaped) middens. This spatial organization effectively separated communal ritual space from domestic living areas and waste management.
