Bonnet’s deputation from Port-au-Prince landed at the Cap and was welcomed by the population.

Haitian

This deputation was of the highest importance. It landed at Cap on 26 October. Welcomed with enthusiasm by the population, it made its way to Milot, from where Bonnet headed for Laférière, where the general in chief was to be found. The first question of the latter concerned Boisrond and Mentor. He was astonished above all that Mentor had not been shot. He urged Bonnet to go and await him at Cap, where he himself appeared on the 28th (1). He had by then just learned of the death of Boisrond and Mentor.
