Blanchet the younger (Marc-Antoine), born at Fort-Dauphin on 25 December 1761 and attached to Gérin’s service, dies at Jérémie.

Haitian

Blanchet the younger (Marc-Antoine), attached to the service of General Gérin, had just died in that town. Pétion therefore could not preside at his funeral, as M. Ardouin asserts, vol. VII, p. 163, since he was still at Port-au-Prince. Daumec delivered his funeral eulogy on 25 June of the following year at the Lodge of the Réunion des Coeurs, at Jérémie; it is a small masterpiece of eloquence.

Blanchet the younger died on 20 May 1808, at the age of forty-seven, having been born at Fort-Dauphin on 25 December 1761.
