Auguste de Pradines, who made the Haitian troubadour, is born

Auguste Linstant de Pradines was born in Paris on 10 September 1879. Haitians knew him as Ti Candio, or Kandjo. More than anyone he built the figure of the Haitian troubadour — the singer who carries the news and the mockery of his time in his own voice. He died in October 1947.
