Attack on the Barrière-Bouteille

Haitian

On 12 July 1865, at the attack on the Barrière-Bouteille, the commander in chief of the government army, General Lubérisse Barthélemy, was wounded. He left his command to General Nissage Saget. Pétion Faubert, at the head of the Red Coats, performed prodigies of valor there. A photograph, now lost, depicted this feat of arms.

Rouzier tells this under the entry Barrière-Bouteille (la).
