Archbishop Testard du Cosquier dies in Rome

Haitian

The first archbishop of Port-au-Prince, Monsignor Testard du Cosquier, died at Rome on 27 July 1869. He was replaced in 1870 by Monsignor Jean-Marie-Alexis Guilloux, who died in October 1886 at Port-au-Prince. Monsignor François-Mathurin Hillion, bishop of Cap-Haïtien, succeeded him. He died in 1890. His post has remained vacant.
