Accidental fire breaks out at Charles Elysée’s shop

Haitian

SAINT LOUIS DU NORD. On 4 July 1915, a fire broke out at Saint Louis du Nord at the home of a merchant by the name of Charles Elysée, the result of a pure accident. The Government decided to come to the aid of the victims and voted, by a law of 21 September 1915, a sum of thirty-five thousand gourdes to be distributed among the victims by a local Commission. According to the inquiry, no sum was paid out.

Rouzier tells this under the entry SAINT LOUIS DU NORD.
