1806: Insurrection aboard the Eleanor, bound for Bahamas (voyage 25504)

On a slaving voyage that ended at Bahamas in 1806, the people aboard the Eleanor rose against the crew. They had been taken at Gorée.

The record gives the numbers as: 267 people were embarked; 201 were landed.

Captain: Davidson. Flag: USA. Recorded outcome, in the database’s words: “sold slaves in Americas – subsequent fate unknown.”
