1805-Oct-29: Governor Balthazar Frederik Mühlenfels of St. Thomas bowed to intense French pressure and officially outlawed trade between Danish merchants and Saint Domingue. The French agent Lartigue initially rejoiced at this decision, believing it would finally secure the economic isolation of Haiti.
