1798: Insurrection aboard the Ascension, bound for Montevideo (voyage 36620)

On a slaving voyage that ended at Montevideo in 1798, the people aboard the Ascension rose against the crew. They had been taken at Mozambique.

The record gives the numbers as: 283 people were embarked; 250 were landed; 33 died on the crossing.
