1790-Apr.-16: The General Assembly of St. Domingo opened its first session at Saint-Marc with 213 members representing the various parishes of the colony.

1790-Apr.-16: The General Assembly of St. Domingo opened its first session at Saint-Marc with 213 members representing the various parishes of the colony. The assembly immediately moved to relieve the people of color from the harsh and illegal authority previously exercised by military officers.
