1790: A colonial summary recorded that Saint-Domingue contained 8,536 agricultural establishments, including 793 sugar plantations and 3,117 coffee settlements.

1790: A colonial summary recorded that Saint-Domingue contained 8,536 agricultural establishments, including 793 sugar plantations and 3,117 coffee settlements. The number of people held in slavery was reckoned at 480,000, while the white population stood at 30,831.
