1789: Shore attack on the boats of the Verwachting, bound for Demerara (voyage 11071)

On a slaving voyage that ended at Demerara in 1789, the Verwachting had its boats attacked from the shore. The people aboard had been taken at Elmina.

The record gives the numbers as: 384 people were embarked; 331 were landed.
