1767-Feb.-14: M. Jolly, a merchant in Cap-Français and testamentary executor for the late Sieur Larché des Landelles, initiated a search for the deceased’s legal documents. Larché had been a resident of the Souffriere district in Dondon prior to his passing. The executor sought to locate these titles and papers, which were believed to be held by various prosecutors or lawyers in the Cap-Français area. Recovering these records was a necessary step for the proper execution of the will and the legal management of the plantation’s assets.
