1767-Feb.-14: A judicial sale was held at the Royal Seat of the Cap for a coffee plantation located at Montagne-Noire in the Grande-Rivière parish. The estate, formerly belonging to the late Pierre Bouyer, consisted of approximately 70 carreaux of land. It featured 20,000 coffee trees reported to be in relatively good condition at the time of the liquidation. Such public auctions were essential for settling colonial successions and redistributing agricultural resources within the Northern Province.
