1767-Feb.-08: A gold-headed cane was reported lost on the road through the Quartier-Morin district. The cane was described as having a long, intricately worked gold pommel and featured a black cord with a tassel and fringe. Its owner, M. Delavit senior, offered a reward for its return through the merchant house of Laguehay in Cap-Français. Such lost property notices illustrate the presence of luxury fashion accessories among the elite planter class of the Northern Province.
