1767-Feb.-05: The slaving vessel Le Boulongne, originating from Nantes and led by Captain Christophe, arrived at the port of Léogane. The ship completed its voyage from the Angolan coast, delivering 262 African captives to the Western Province. The vessel had previously touched at the port of Cap-Français before reaching its final destination for the sale of its human cargo. This arrival provided a fresh influx of labor for the sugar estates during the peak of the colony’s export production.
