Chapitre XI: Des appellations (On Appeals)

La déclaration d'appel sera faite, au greffe de la sénéchaussée, dans les trois jours de la signification de la sentence, à la partie condamnée, à personne ou domicile, et signifiée à l'intimé.

Pendant ce délai, et pendant l'instance d'appel, il sera sursis à l'exécution de la sentence.

Life lesson: You have three days after being served with the sentence to file an appeal at the court clerk's office — and during that window and throughout the appeal, the sentence can't be enforced.
Notes: 3-day appeal filing deadline from signification of sentence. Filed at sénéchaussée greffe. Service on intimé. Suspensive effect: sursis during filing period AND instance d'appel. Contrast with non-suspensive interlocutory appeals (Art. 267). Final sentence appeals suspend execution.
