Tous les livres de commerce seront visés, cotés et paraphés, par le juge de l'amirauté, une fois par an. S'ils ne sont revêtus de cette formalité indispensable, aucune foi ne leur sera portée en justice.

Life lesson: Books must be inspected and certified by the admiralty judge annually — uncertified books are worthless in court.
Notes: Annual judicial certification: admiralty judge inspects, numbers, initials books. Non-certified books inadmissible as evidence.
