Le meurtre qui aura été commis sans aucune préméditation, par suite d'une provocation portant des preuves de violence, sera puni de trois années de barrière neuve.

Life lesson: Kill without premeditation after being physically provoked? Three years at hard labor instead of death — provocation mitigates but doesn't excuse.
Notes: Provoked unpremeditated murder: 3 years barrière neuve. Requires: (1) no premeditation + (2) provocation with preuves de violence. Significant mitigation from death penalty.
