Le lieutenant de juge percevra, pour ses émoluments, demi pour cent sur les répartitions du quart affecté aux agriculteurs, et ne pourra jamais, sous aucun prétexte, en prélever davantage.

Life lesson: Cap the fee. The judge who distributes the workers' share earns half a percent — no more, no matter what. Fixed fees prevent creeping corruption.
Notes: Judge's fee capped at 0.5% of the distribution. 'Under any pretext' — absolute ceiling to prevent judicial overcharging.
