Tout hattier convaincu d'avoir tué des animaux confiés à sa garde, à l'insu du propriétaire, ou qui serait atteint et convaincu d'en avoir vendu frauduleusement pour son compte, sera condamné à en payer la valeur, à une détention d'un an aux barrières neuves, et employé pendant ce temps aux travaux publics.

Any ranch keeper convicted of having killed animals entrusted to his care without the owner's knowledge, or found guilty of having fraudulently sold them for his own account, shall be condemned to pay their value, to one year's detention at the new barricades, and employed during that time in public works.
