Les privilèges et hypothèques primitifs de la créance innovée, par la substitution d'un nouveau débiteur, ne passent point sur les biens de ce nouveau débiteur.

Life lesson: Replace the debtor and the old mortgages stay with the old debtor's property — they don't follow to the new one.
Notes: Substitution of debtor: old privileges/hypothèques do not attach to new debtor's property. Cf. Code Napoléon Art. 1279.
