En cas de mariage contracté en pays étranger entre haytiens, l'acte de célébration du mariage sera transcrit sur le registre public du lieutenant de juge du lieu de son débarquement, un mois après le retour, dans le royaume, du haytien qui l'aurait contracté.

Life lesson: A marriage abroad is not recognized until it is written into the registers at home. The kingdom claims its own.
Notes: Foreign marriages between Haytians must be transcribed into domestic registers within one month of return. Port of disembarkation determines jurisdiction. Ensures the kingdom maintains civil records of all its citizens' marriages regardless of where contracted.
