Lorsque la condition potestative a été contractée de la part de celui qui s'oblige, l'obligation est nulle.

Life lesson: An obligation that depends entirely on the promisor's whim is no obligation at all.
Notes: Purely potestative condition on obligor's part = null obligation. Cf. Code Napoléon Art. 1174.
