Les enfans ou leurs descendans succèdent à leurs père et mère, aïeuls et aïeules, ou autres ascendans, sans distinction de sexe ni de primogéniture, et quoiqu'ils soient issus de différens mariages.

Life lesson: Children inherit from their parents and grandparents — no distinction of sex, no right of the firstborn, no penalty for being from a different marriage. Equality among descendants.
Notes: Descendant succession: no distinction by sex, primogeniture, or marriage of origin. Equality among all legitimate children/descendants. Revolutionary principle of equal inheritance. Cf. Code Napoléon Art. 745.
