Chapitre II: Des Servitudes établies par la Loi (On Servitudes Established by Law)

Dans les villes, bourgs et campagnes, sont censés mitoyens, tout mur, haie ou entourage servant de séparation entre maison, cour, jardin ou manufacture, à moins qu'il n'y ait titre ou marque du contraire.

Life lesson: Every dividing wall, hedge, or fence is presumed shared — unless a title or physical mark says otherwise. The default in Haiti is common ownership of boundaries.
Notes: Presumption of party status (mitoyenneté): all walls, hedges, enclosures separating properties are presumed party unless title/mark indicates otherwise. Universal rule — cities, towns, countryside. Cf. Code Napoléon Art. 653.
